Suspect in Bailey’s Crossroads murder arrested in El Salvador

Polanco Cabrera [FCPD]

A suspect in a 2016 homicide in Bailey’s Crossroads has been arrested in El Salvador and extradited to Fairfax County, the police department reports.

Adonay Polanco Cabrera, 25, formerly of Culmore, left Northern Virginia following the murder of Leif Ohlsson, 69, in the victim’s apartment.

Polanco Cabrera was arrested by authorities in El Salvador last month and was brought back to the United States with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service.

He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center Aug. 18 where he was served indictments for first-degree murder, burglary, and grand larceny. He is currently being held without bond.

In November 2017, Fredy Cisneros Agustin, 28, of Culmore, plead guilty to second-degree murder in connection with that incident and is awaiting sentencing. Two others were arrested and charged with burglary: Gabriel Coca, 31, and Jose Nasario Perez Amaya, 27. All three were also from Culmore.
