National Night Out is on Aug. 4


Get
to know your neighbors on National Night Out, Aug. 4. Community associations
and HOAs throughout the nation are hosting cookouts, ice cream socials, and
other gatherings, mostly between 6 and 9 p.m.
Officers from the Fairfax County Police Department
and emergency personnel will be making the rounds at local NNO events to
talk about crime prevention and safety and reinforce positive relationships with
residents.

National Night Out is based on the idea that neighborhoods are better, safer places to live when
residents know one another and trust the police and when there is a true sense
of community.
