New Dollar Tree opens in Annandale

Spiderman man was there, as well as a face painter, at the opening celebration for Annandale’s new Dollar Tree Saturday. The new store is in the Little River Shopping Center (7448 Little River Turnpike) next to Blockbuster. Dollar Tree is the only dollar store “where everything truly costs a dollar,” says the regional manager Jeff, who didn’t want to give his last name. He says the new Annandale Dollar Tree is the first in the area with a frozen dairy section.

Among the items you can get for a buck: a wide variety of Halloween items (including a severed foot), party supplies, candy, household goods, health items, hair ornaments, and greeting cards (2 for $1). The property has come full circle in a way, as it was occupied many years ago by a McCrory’s five and dime store. There’s another Dollar Tree in Annandale; it’s in the Bradlick Shopping Center at 6920 Braddock Road.
