New restaurant concept to replace O’My ChiQ

O’My ChiQ & Bar, at 7023 Columbia Pike in Annandale, has a new owner and will reopen soon with a new name, Pike Kitchen, and a new concept.
The new owner of the chicken restaurant also owns Pike Kitchen on Rockville Pike in Maryland, an employee confirmed.
The Pike Kitchen in Rockville describes itself as a “vibrant food hall featuring five unique brands, each offering a diverse array of culinary delights.”
The new sign outside the Annandale restaurant lists five of the same brands, including Abeno Sushi, Bowl Play (bibimbap), Japomen (ramen and other Japanese dishes), and On Top (desserts), and Pike Chicken (wings, chicken sandwiches, and other entrees).
O’My ChiQ appears to be closed for remodeling. Before O’My ChiQ opened three years ago, the building housed Dice Burger. Previous tenants included Taco Bueno and a gas station.

Wow, cursed location! The O My Chiq’n bar was fun and the decor had a vibe, but they were frequently out of multiple menu items, the food was mediocre at best, and service was spotty. With the loss of The Block, this might be a concept that works. Good luck to the new iwners.
It really shouldn’t be a bad location tho. Right at the beginning of Annandale off of Gallows into Falls Church with multiple entrances into a fairly large parking lot (as opposed to the Dunkin next to it!) and I didn’t realize until recently that it has a large lighted back patio too! Not sure why that particular place is unable to retain customers… although I never ate their personally (not a fan of wings)
Never went to this place, but I liked Dice Burger. Burgers were decent and the chili and lentil soups were good. Never won a burger when rolling the dice, but it was a novel concept.
Awww! I enjoyed the kimchi chicken bowls at My Chiq. I used to go often. The tornado fries were good too!
This is location is cursed. There is already is too many food concepts like this in Annandale. The town doesn’t need more ramen, katsu, n bowls. Horrible business decision to open a restaurant in a location thats had a history of closures and expect to succeed by offering things in a saturated market. You really have to bring something original, unique and creative to survive in a cursed spot. Wish them the best but I dont see them lasting a year.
Perhaps some other casual dinning food options that are not Asian or Latino/Southwestern focused are needed in Annandale.
While a number of residents in Annandale, North Springfield and surrounding areas are of Asian and Latino nationalities, there are a large amount that aren’t, and would like to have other dinning options without having to drive to Tyson Corner, Mclean, Fairfax, Alexandria or Arlington. Fox Fire at Pinecrest was also replaced by an Asian based menu, much to my disappointment.
Over population of restaurant options, can’t be sustainable to the same types of locations offering the same or similar menu items.
Fox Fire’s food sucked.
Sorry, I disagree. We went their often. Found a nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices and good food.
The food wasn’t great, but it also wasn’t terrible. Granted, I never tried it before they did their Restaurant Impossible makeover, because I was living in DC, rather than here in Annandale.
But the happy hour specials and deals on wine were nice. And given that they were the only game in town, more or less, for a blend of American and continental Euro mains, I let the slightly inflated menu prices slide. And nine times out of ten, the service was better than you’ll get anywhere else around here.
The only other truly nearby option that even sort-of-competed in the same niche is Silverado, and comparing the two from a menu perspective is a real stretch. I enjoy Silverado, but their menu and whatever they are trying to go for with their decor is utterly bizarre. Not having at least one other local ‘American’-ish dine in option when I’m not in the mood for Asian or Latino fare is disappointing.
But where’s the Poke Bowl ?!?
That’s what we are really missing in Annandale.
I’m fine with the location – as long as the food is worth going for.
Annandale needs a nice Italian restaurant!
No restaurant has gained a foothold because we already have lots of chicken places and burger places. My preference would be a Ledos Pizza
That’s a shame. I liked their wood fired ribs.
Just more of the same. This location has never worked out. Would have liked to see another type restaurant like Foxfire, or Italian, or French, or Seafood.
I’d settle for just some different sort of Asian cuisine. Would love to avoid driving to Eden Center for decent Viet, for instance. I also feel like an authentic Cantonese or Szechuan joint would do well here.
Can we bring back Dice Burger?
I agree! Bring back Dice Burger!
