New restaurants, shops coming to Mosaic

Several new restaurants and shops are coming to the Mosaic District in Merrifield in the next few months.

District Candle Lab, a hands-on candle-making experience at the Union Market District in D.C., plans to open a second location at Mosaic this spring. Customers choose their favorite scents and work with a “candle tender” to craft the perfect blend.

Fawne, another hands-on craft concept at Union Market coming to Mosaic, lets customers select from a wide variety of charms to create their own jewelry.

Maman, a French-inspired café with several locations in D.C. and elsewhere on the East Coast, will open in Mosaic this summer. Maman offers pastries, cookies, specialty coffee, and other goodies.

More indulgences will be available when The Salty, a donut shop, opens this summer.

A luxury bedding store, Boll & Branch, is scheduled to open in May. The shop sells sheets, quilts, pillows, body pillows, mattresses, towels, and related items.

Also coming to Mosaic: Zakaa Couture, a bridal shop specializing in luxury wedding gowns and evening wear.

A new restaurant for carnivores, Hi/Fi Tex Mex Barbecue, opened earlier this month at Mosaic between Mom’s Organic Market and B Side. Hi/Fi offers prime beef brisket, spare ribs, tacos, pulled pork, tequila, and much more. It’s their second location; the first one is in Del Ray, Alexandria.

Mosaic also has a new furniture store. Herman Miller focuses on timeless, ergonomic designs.

The Mosaic District is hosting several community events this spring, including Art Blooms on April 4-5, a Holi Festival on April 26, and a Pop-Up Market on May 3-4.wear.
