New Seven Corners townhouses sold quickly

Construction of the Boulevard 6060 townhouse development on Arlington Boulevard in Seven Corners isn’t completed yet but all 37 homes have sold out months ago. 

The final 17 homes are expected to be finished and occupied in September, says Andrew Wilan of Beazer Homes. 

Prices ranged from $750,000 to just over $900,000. There are three smaller workforce housing units available to eligible homebuyers for $316,000. 

The project is built on what had been a former medical office building. It’s in between the Willston Shopping Center, the Federal Hill townhouse community, and the Arlington County line. A small park area with a playground will be added to the site.  

According to Wilan, “five people were fighting over every house,” even though the prices went up 15 percent after the first two months. 

The pandemic slowed things down a bit for a couple of months as sales moved to a virtual platform, he says, but quickly returned to pre-COVID levels. Only two people had to back out due to worries over job losses, but those houses were quickly snapped up by other buyers. 

Wilan cites several reasons for the quick sales: the homes’ design, pricing, location, and the hot real estate market.

“It’s an incredible location with easy access to Target, restaurants, and shops,” he says. “It’s an easy commute to Tysons and D.C., and there’s a bus line to Metro.” 

In addition, he says, there’s a very limited inventory of houses on the market,  interest rates are low, and Amazon is a big factor, too.
