Patient First now open in Annandale
Patient First, the new health center in central Annandale, provides urgent and primary care 8 a.m.-8 p.m. 365 days a year.
The center, at 7042A Little River Turnpike, offers walk-in medical services only. They don’t schedule appointments.
Services include immunizations, Covid testing, X-rays, pregnancy tests, and treatments for urinary tract infections, pneumonia, flu, lacerations, minor fractures, sprains, ear infections, routine injuries, and more.
Patient First has a lab for blood work and drug screening and a pharmacy that can fill routine prescriptions on-site. There’s also a telehealth option and translation services.
Patient First invites children to come for a free candy X-ray Oct. 27-Nov. 3. This service gives parents peace of mind by knowing whether there’s any glass or other foreign matter in their kids’ Halloween candy. It’s also a fun way for children to get accustomed to future doctor visits.
“If someone isn’t feeling well, this is the first place they should go,” says Dr. Delbert Morales, Patient First’s regional medical director. If needed, the center will call 911 or refer the patient to a specialist.
Patient First accepts major insurance plans including Aetna, Anthem, CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna Healthcare, Optima, UnitedHealthcare, and Medicare.
“The goal of Patient First is to provide convenient, cost-effective medical care on a walk-in basis,” says Dr. R.P. Sowers, founder and CEO of Patient First. “At the same time, our physicians and staff always work closely and in a collaborative fashion with the area’s existing medical community to provide care.”
The Annandale facility is the 22nd Patient First center in the D.C. region. The company operates dozens of locations in Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Patient First was established in Richmond in 1981.
