Patient First offers sports physicals

If you’re child plans to play a sport in school or in a youth league, they’re going to need a sports physical.

Patient First, a healthcare facility at 7042A Little River Turnpike in Annandale and a Taste of Annandale sponsor, is offering sports physicals on a walk-in basis. An appointment is not necessary.

Patient First is open 8 a.m.-8 p.m., 365 days a year.

Sports physicals will generally consist of the following:

  • review of medical and family history
  • height, weight, blood pressure, and vision check
  • heart, lungs, throat, and joint exam
  • strength, flexibility, and neurological check
  • additional exam elements determined by the physician

Many insurers will cover an annual physical exam performed by a child’s primary care provider with no patient copay. If Patient First is a child’s primary care provider, they can perform a sports physical at the same time as the annual physical exam with no additional charge. The self-pay price is $55.
