Paws for Pets: Danny wants your vote

Danny

Paws for Pets is a series focusing on pets of any kind.

Danny, a formerly homeless 2-year-old hound lab pit mix, has dreams of stardom, but he needs your help. He is asking people to vote for him in the Washingtonian magazine’s cutest dog contest.

If he wins, Danny plans to host to host a happy hour, with free drinks for everyone who voted for him, says his owner, Annandale realtor Vivianne Couts of Coldwell Banker.

Danny is already a star, however, as he appears in Couts’ open house videos and won the best couple competition at the Taste of Annandale best-dressed pet contest. He and his friend, Zuri, appeared as superheroes at the Oct. 13 street festival.

Danny was found on the side of the road in West Virginia last year and was saved by City Dogs Rescue, an organization that specializes in rescuing dogs and cats from overcrowded and high-kill shelters. All funds raised from Danny’s videos are donated to City Dogs Rescue.

Couts says Danny is a friendly, happy dog who “never met an enemy.” His favorite activities are playing with his sister, helping his mom at work, and misbehaving.

Previous features in the Paws for Pets series focused on Toothless, a cat rescued from Thailand; Teddy, a lovable diva dog; and cats Lacey and Lynx, best friends for life. If you would like to share a story about your pet in the Annandale Blog, contact [email protected].
