Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash

A man struck by a hit-and-run driver on Little River Turnpike on Jan. 7 has died.
Fairfax County Police identified the victim as Christopher Young, 34, of Annandale.
According to detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit, Young was crossing Little River Turnpike at Shelley Lane at 7 a.m. when he was struck by a dark-colored sedan traveling westbound on Little River Turnpike. The driver did not stop.
Young was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the vehicle. Tips can be submitted to the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543 or to Crime Solvers.

I totally agree!! A young Asian girl was hit by a vehicle a few years ago in Annandale, around the December timeframe, and I don’t think they were able to find who hit her – same situation!! đŸ¥²
Driver should’ve stopped, but driver had right of way and probably didn’t see the guy until it was too late. Why did he walk into oncoming traffic with a green light?
I knew him in high school and he had special needs. He was the sweetest guy. He always said hi to me and gave me a hug. I haven’t seen the video but I think he had trouble walking fast and might have got confused. đŸ˜”
