Planning Commission endorses senior housing project in Seven Corners

The design of the senior housing project proposed for Seven Corners.

The Fairfax County Planning Commission is recommending approval of a rezoning application to permit an apartment building on the grounds of First Christian Church on Leesburg Pike in Seven Corners.

Wesley Housing Development Corp. plans to build a four-story 113-unit apartment building for low-income seniors. The Culmore Clinic, currently housed in the church would be relocated to the first floor of the new building.

The building would sit at a higher elevation overlooking homes that already experience severe flooding during storms.

At the Planning Commission’s request, Wesley Housing agreed to strengthen the stormwater control system proposed for the property.
