Police seek tips on stabbing incident
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is recovering from his injuries.
He was walking near the 3400 block of Payne Street when a man grabbed him from behind and stabbed him in the torso. The suspect then ran away into the neighborhood. Nothing was taken from the victim during the incident.
The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing around 180 pounds, and wearing a black mask. The victim said the suspect was yelling at him with an Arabic accent.
Detectives are asking anyone who was in the area from 7:30 to 9 that evening, or has information that could lead to identifying a possible suspect, to contact Detective Lawalt at the Mason District Station at 703-256-8035.
Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Solvers, 1-866-411-TIPS. Anonymous tipsters are eligible for cash rewards of $100 to $1000 if their information leads to an arrest.
In other crime news from the Fairfax County Police Department, there was a robbery on the 4800 block of Manitoba Drive in Lincolnia Dec. 13. A teenage girl approached a man at about 11:15 p.m. and asked for money.
The man opened his wallet and gave her cash. A short time later, the girl, along with a teenage boy, approached the victim again, displayed a firearm, and demanded more cash. No one was injured.
The suspects were described as a juvenile Hispanic female, about 5 feet tall and 140 pounds, and a juvenile black male, about 5 feet 4 inches tall and 125 pounds.
There was a vehicle tampering incident in the 4900 block of Fran Place, Lincolnia, at about 1:44 a.m. on Dec. 13. A resident reported a man tried to open car doors in a parking lot. When officers confronted the suspect, he ran away and dropped stolen items. Ruddy Machado, 26, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with grand larceny.
A house was broken into and ransacked Dec. 13 between 3 and 6 p.m. on the 5900 block of Brill Court in Bailey’s Crossroads. Police were dispatched after being alert by an alarm. It is not known if anything was stolen.
Police are also seeking information on a suspect caught on camera burglarizing a home in the 4000 block of Championship Court in Annandale. The incident happened around noon on Dec. 14. He broke in through the back door and announced he was the police before ransacking the home. He did not steal anything.
The suspect is a black male in his 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with dark sleeves, black pants, gloves, and light-colored sneakers.
