Polls are open for the primaries

The polls opened today at 6 a.m. for the Virginia presidential primaries and will close at 7 p.m.

If you’re not sure where to vote, look up your polling place on the Virginia Department of Elections website. Be sure to bring a driver’s license or other valid form of identification.

If you have a mail-in absentee ballot, you can drop it off at any polling location by 7 p.m. on March 5.

Registered voters can choose to vote in the Democratic or Republican primary, not both.

In addition to President Joe Biden, names on the Democratic ballot include Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson.

There are six names on the Republican ballot, although only Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, and Ryan Binkley are still in the race.
