Prepare for more snow
With another winter storm expected on Sunday, local residents are urged to prepare now.
The National Weather Service predicts 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation from 1 p.m. on Sunday to 1 a.m. Monday.
Temperatures in the 20s could mean sleet and freezing rain, resulting in more hazardous road conditions and icy sidewalks.
VDOT urges residents to stay off the roads Sunday and Monday. Take care of errands today, fill up your gas tank, and make sure you have enough wiper fluid.
Fairfax County Public Schools canceled all activities on school property for Sunday after 1 p.m.
Report hazardous road conditions to VDOT online or call 800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623).
Want to know where the snowplows are? Visit VDOT’s snowplow tracker.
If you see a homeless person outdoors possibly at risk of hypothermia, call the police non-emergency number, 703-691-2131.
