Property owner hosts weekend yard sales

The owners of a house in a commercial area in Annandale plan to open a bicycle shop, but meanwhile, are holding yard sales in front of the property on Saturdays and Sundays.

The building, at 7261 Maple Place, is used for storage. It was formerly an art and frame shop. That shop relocated a couple of doors away to 7257 Maple Place.

At the yard sale last week, there were kids’ bikes, toys, step ladders, mirrors, and household items. An employee for the proprietor, who didn’t want to give his name, said the merchandise is purchased wholesale from Amazon and other sites and sold at low prices.

  1. Permit required? This isn’t a residential yard sale, it’s a business. So Saturdays and Sundays just look a little junkier around here?

  2. Junk that belongs in a landfill. How awful for the neighboring businesses! The items appear to be a hodgepodge of returns bought at auction on sites like Rasmus. There must be a law against putting a bunch of crap outside a business in Fairfax county.
