Registation opens for Senior Olympics

Online registration opened July 1 for the 2024 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics.

There are 83 events during 15 days of competitions, Sept. 14-29.

Events include sports, such as power walking, swimming, and pickleball, and also non-athletic events, such as Scrabble and jigsaw puzzles.

Participants must be 50 years of age by Dec. 31, 2024, and live in one of the sponsoring jurisdictions: the counties of Fairfax, Arlington, Fauquier, Loudoun, and Prince William, and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, and Falls Church.

Register here. The registration fee is $20. Additional fees are required for 10-pin bowling, orienteering, cycling, and golf.

Events are scheduled throughout Northern Virginia, including some events in the Annandale/Mason District area. Racquetball will be held at the Audrey Moore Rec Center. Football throw, frisbee throw, tennis, and softball hit and throw are at Wakefield District Park.

Mexican train dominoes will be at the Goodwin House in Bailey’s Crossroads. Cribbage, line dancing, and pool will be at the Lincolnia Senior Center.
