Restaurant planned for Giant building in Annandale

The vacant storefront in the building on Columbia Pike
housing the Annandale Giant has been leased and will be developed as a
restaurant, but isn’t expected to open for at least 10 months to a year. It
will take that long for the permitting process and construction, says John
Chang, principal broker at JMC Investment Trust Co.

The purchaser doesn’t want to reveal what type of restaurant
is planned, but here’s a clue: it’s not Korean. The building, in between the
Gom Ba Woo Korean restaurant and the Speedy Laundromat, used to house a Korean
Karaoke bar and has been empty for at least a year and a-half.

  1. Maybe a barbeque place. That way, you can strip off your sauce-stained shirt and throw it in a washing machine next store.

  2. In the meantime, I recommend Dice Burger for barbecue. It's new and delicious. And I LOVE their coconut milkshakes. It will be nice to have another non-Korean option in the neighborhood that is not fast food.
