Fairfax County Police detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division arrested a retail theft crew based in New York on Feb. 4 in Lincolnia.

Officers responded to the 6200 block of Little River Turnpike shortly before 7:30 p.m. for a report of a larceny in progress. Four suspects in possession of stolen merchandise were taken into custody, the FCPD states.

Jefferson Caluqui Cevallos, 32, of New Jersey; Germania Dianire Andrade, 37, of New Jersey; Geovanni Flor Vera, 46, of no fixed address; and Willian Atupana Cepeda, 31, of no fixed address, were all charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen goods.

All four were taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Vera was held on a secure bond. The others were released on their own personal recognizance.

  1. Now wait one minute! Released on their own recognizance! They travel from NY, have no fixed addresses, have no means to put up a bond, and they’re released! And they’re going to return along with Santa’s Claus? They’re something definitely wrong with that judges’ decision

  2. How do individuals who travel from other states as a part of travelling retail thieves get released on their own recognizance, especially one with no fixed address?

  3. Are they in the country illegally? Perhaps the judge did not want them jailed, because then they would be vulnerable to ICE. (Just trying to come up with some idea of what happened. Did the judge say anything when he released them on PR?)

  4. From what I understand from the lady who runs the local post office, any theft under $1000 won’t be prosecuted so what’s the point in holding them? One guy was held. He must have had something more going on. Maybe he’s wanted on a warrant in NJ.
