Santa’s Ride will stop at Bailey’s Elementary School

Santa’s Ride will be stopping at Bailey’s Primary Elementary School on Dec. 15.

Every year, local law enforcement officers cruise by local
elementary schools on motorcycles – some dressed in Santa outfits or as other
winter characters – to collect donated toys for children at Fairfax Hospital
and the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center.

Local residents are encouraged
to donate new unwrapped toys, books, and games. Items can be dropped off at Bailey’s (6111 Knollwood Drive, Falls Church) and the Mason Police Station on Columbia Pike by 9 a.m.on Dec. 14.

Approximately 25 motor squad officers are expected at Bailey’s
on Dec. 15 between 2:40 and 3:15 p.m. It’s one of eight schools on Santa’s Ride
this year.
The Fairfax County Police Department, Fairfax County Sheriff’s
Office, Falls Church Sheriff’s Office, Virginia
State Police, Vienna Police Department, and City of Fairfax Police Department
are all taking part in Santa’s Ride.
Mary Weaver (in photo above), a crime prevention
volunteer at the Mason Police Station (appearing as Mrs. Claus in the photo above) has been an organizer of Santa’s Ride
for many years.

  1. Santa will only deliver gifts to boys and girls in Mason District who behaved this year and did not engage in criminal activities.
