Just kidding, they elected to close. I don’t know why this crap still blows me away.
Agreed. It is absurd. Total lack of leadership.
The FEDS closed their offices at 1PM and made pandemonium of traffic during the height of the storm. No one around here really gets it.
Federal gov't "closing" is laughable. Many if not all agencies have telework policies in place. Employees telework a day or two a week (a nice perk not to have to commute) but it is also for continuity of government during weather events and larger disasters. But when they close, many agencies don't require employees to go home and telework. It is a complete joke.
The Trump administration changed that, but did not require it yesterday. He is trying to get on the good side of Federal Employees after what he did to us last January. Typically if one has telecommuting abilities – govt issued equipment etc, they are required to work at home if the govt closes.
@108, right! I left work at 1, so I could get my kid from school that closed early. I got there 2.5 hrs later. My wife left work in DC at the normal time and got home in 30 min, beat commute she’s ever had.
