Schools closed tomorrow

Fairfax County Schools will be closed again on Monday, Feb. 2.
All activities on school grounds are also canceled. School buildings and offices will open on time for 12-month staff.
A message from FCPS Superintendent Reid says School Age Child Care and Beyond the Bell centers will be open tomorrow, although a notice on the FCPS website says those programs will be closed.
“The challenge continues to be snow piles and ice on sidewalks and bus stops (we have 45,000 bus stops!) that have proven difficult to remove,” Reid says.
“We anticipate that coordination with our county and state partners will allow us to re-open Tuesday with a two-hour delay,” she says.
Reid urges students to “charge up their laptops and log into Schoology to check on any missing assignments. Reading a book or working through some math problems is always a good idea.” FCPS suggests activities to make the most of a snow day.
More snow and ice coming on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temps will remain below freezing for a third week (going up NEXT Tuesday, not tomorrow after all).*
Doesn’t FCPS have virtual learning? Every student was issued a laptop.
