Stuff the Bus will be here on Saturday
Fairfax County’s Stuff the Bus campaign will be at Graham Park Plaza on Jan. 21 and the Annandale Giant on Feb. 11.
Stuff the Bus is a partnership between the county and local nonprofits, It was launched in 2011 to collect food donated by residents to restock the shelves of local food pantries that get depleted after the holidays.
Since the program began, Stuff the Bus has collected more than 220 tons of food for families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.
This Saturday, Jan. 21, Stuff the Bus will be at the Falls Church Giant at 7235 Arlington Blvd., 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Food collected at this event will go to the Falls Church Community Service Council, a coalition of faith communities and human service organizations in the greater Falls Church area.
Stuff the Bus will be at the Annandale Giant, 7137 Columbia Pike, on Feb. 11, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
This event will benefit the food pantry run by the Annandale Christian Community for Action. ACCA is a coalition of churches that recruits volunteers to deliver food to those in need.
Some of the items sought by ACCA include beef stew, cooking oil, dry (not canned) beans, flour, bags of rice, spaghetti sauce, and bar soap. See the full list here.
