Subsidized housing application opens in Lincolnia

The HUD Project-Based Section 8 waiting list for Strawbridge Square Apartments in Lincolnia will open for new applications on Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. and will close on Dec. 5 at 4 p.m., Wesley Property Management announced.
Strawbridge Square, at 5128 Lincoln Ave., has 128 stacked townhouses and garden apartments with one, two, three, and four-bedroom units. The community is owned by Wesley Housing, one of the region’s top developers and owners of affordable housing.
To qualify for Section 8 project-based rental assistance, a family’s or individual’s income cannot exceed 80 percent of the local median.
Applications will only be accepted during the open window. Applicants will be able to click the “apply now” button when the window opens on Dec. 1. All applications received during this period will be processed in the order they are submitted.
Strawbridge Square has central air, private patios, laundry rooms, and wheelchair accessibility. Three and four-bedroom units have hookups for washers and dryers.
All residents have access to the Lincolnia Community Resource Center, which hosts education classes, after-school homework help for youths, summer camp, and other activities.
