Support Stuart HS music programs on Tag Day
The Stuart marching band |

Here’s your chance to support music in the public schools: Next Saturday, Sept. 17, JEB Stuart High School will be holding its annual Tag Day to raise money for the school’s award-winning band, orchestra, and choir programs.
Once a year, on Tag Day, student and parent volunteers spend all day going door-to-door within the school’s boundaries to collect donations to benefit the Music Department.
These tax-deductible contributions allow the Music Department to provide uniforms, instruments, equipment, special music, guest instructors, and other expenses that are not covered by Fairfax County. One hundred percent of all donations go directly to the Music Department.
Those who aren’t home on Tag Day or who live in apartments or condos that the students can’t visit can mail donations to: Stuart High School Band Boosters Inc., P.O. Box 1640, Falls Church, VA 22041. Checks should be made payable to Stuart High School Band Boosters.
Please be generous when the kids come to your door, and thanks for supporting the JEB Stuart Music Department.
Nancy Witkowski is Tag Day parent coordinator.
I am so envious! When I was in the color guard at Stuart, our musicians had to make do with hand-me-down uniforms from ANNANDALE High School! Yes, that means my friends were wearing red, white, and black! I'm glad to see my alma mater is doing better, but man….sheesh.
Thanks for the fun story — wow!
A huge thank-you to everyone who supported the Stuart students yesterday. They covered a lot of ground and met a lot of wonderful people who were extremely generous in their contributions!
