by torrential rains on July 8.

The storm filled the low-lying pool
close to Holmes Run with debris, sand, and silt. It can’t be pumped until the
water table subsides, says pool manager Dave Lassiter. He doesn’t know when
that will happen but hopes the pool can be safe for swimming before the end of
the summer.

The baby pool is open, however, and was crowded yesterday afternoon with children and a few adults.
Meanwhile, kids on the swim team,
the SHRA Sharks, have been practicing at the Lee Graham Pool on Lee Highway in
Falls Church and the Lincolnia Park Recreation Club, and SHRA members have been
invited to use the Lee Graham Pool.

Call me crazy but sounds like that’s exactly what the bit above stated
Not to be fussy, but wouldn't it be more appropriate to say the facility is operating in a limited capacity while the main pool is being addressed? To say otherwise would imply that the values of a tennis court and wadding pool outweigh that of a main pool, which is arguably the driving reason to obtain membership. This all being said I know everyone is doing the best they can to get the pool ready as soon as possible and I appreciate the effort.
Isn't there a pool right next to this pool? I find it crazy that the neighboring pool would not allow use of their pool even if at off hours.
The pool right next door is SHBR which had its main pool also flooded. Cleanup is ongoing for the main pool.
"hopes the pool can be safe for swimming before the end of the summer" implies that we run the risk of the pool being closed for the remainder of the summer. This is not the case. Dave was unaware that his answers to questions being asked were going to be used in a blog post.
We expect the main pool to be open shortly.
