Early in-person voting begins today
Voters are encouraged to use an ExpressVote machine. Early in-person voting begins on Friday, Sept. 17, at three locations for the Nov. 2 election. Voters will select a governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and member of the House of Delegates. There is also a $360 million public school bond on the ballot.

More candidates join the race for governor, other state offices
Since we reported in January on the crowded field of candidates running for statewide offices, several more Republican candidates have jumped into the race. They include seven more candidates running for governor for a total of 10. Another Republican candidate joined the race for lieutenant governor, and there’s one more running for attorney general.

While the national election results aren’t in yet, one thing is clear: Democratic candidate Joe Biden overwhelmingly beat President Donald Trump in Fairfax County.
