VDOT installs new crosswalks and signals on Columbia Pike
New accessible traffic signals and crosswalks, aimed at improving safety, have been implemented at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Lacy Boulevard/Maple Court in Bailey’s Crossroads, VDOT reports. Groups launch Safe Streets campaign
The Coalition for Smarter Growth and the immigrant advocacy group CASA are launching the Safe Streets for Bailey’s Crossroads campaign. The goal is to engage and organize the local community in pushing for improved access for walking, biking, and transit. With another winter storm expected on Sunday, local residents are urged to prepare now. New traffic signals on Columbia Pike
The new signals are covered up. Two traffic signals on Columbia Pike are being upgraded. One is at John Marr Drive/Chatelain Road in central Annandale. The other is at Lacy Boulevard/Maple Court in Bailey’s Crossroads. The Virginia Department of Transportation is expected to complete both signals in late winter 2022, Mason Supervisor Penny Gross reports.
