Metro delays will continue through at least Nov. 15

[Elvert Barnes/Creative Commons] Metrorail service will remain at the current reduced levels through at least Nov. 15, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority announced Oct. 28. That will give WMATA more time to work with the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission on a plan to get 7000-series railcars safely back into service.
Free transfers approved for Fairfax Connector buses

Metro to expand service, cut prices
A Metrobus in Seven Corners. When workplaces and entertainment venues ramp up this fall, transit riders might find it easier to take Metro. Metro is adding more trains and buses, reducing prices, and extending operating hours, beginning Sept. 5. The changes will bring overall bus and rail service to near pre-pandemic levels.
Funding approved for Braddock Road improvements

The Braddock Road Multimodal Improvement Project will get more than $55 million through a VDOT program called Smart Scale, Braddock Supervisor James Walkinshaw announced in the August Braddock Beacon. The funds, approved by the Commonwealth Transportation Board, will cover Phase 1 of the project.
E-scooters to hit the road soon
A Link e-scooter [Link] Fairfax County has approved two vendors – Link and Bird – to provide e-scooters as part of the county’s Shared Mobility Device Program. Each company has been approved for 300 e-scooters. Each fleet can eventually be increased to 600 devices based on usage.
Lane closures expected on Route 236 due to bridge project
