TD Bank at Pinecrest Plaza has closed

The former home of a TD Bank branch.

The TD Bank on Little River Turnpike and Braddock Road next to Pinecrest Plaza has closed.

The bank opened in 2017 in a space previously occupied by an Exxon gas station.

A sign on the building directs customers to other TD branches, on Little River Turnpike in Annandale, at the Willston Shopping Center on Arlington Boulevard in Seven Corners, and Van Dorn Street in Alexandria.

TD Bank closed 38 branches in 2025 and planned to close 51 more in early 2026. The closures also affect the TD branch in McLean and another one on K Street in D.C.

According to the company, the closures are part of a broader “reimagining” of their retail footprint as they focus their services on online banking.

Meanwhile, the area is getting a new bank: CommonWealth Federal Credit Union is opening a new branch at 4900 Seminary Road, adjacent to the Mark Center in Alexandria on Feb. 23.

The bank invites the community to a Grand Opening on Feb. 25, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting, remarks from CommonWealth One CEO Frank Wasson, refreshments, and door prizes.

  1. This is very unfortunate as I have to use this bank for my job. I went to the other location in Annandale and the parking is a mess (of course the snow doesn’t help) and it is a lot more inconvenient. I have had all sorts of problems with TD Bank. They have gone down hill in recent years.

  2. I agree. I used the branch on Pickett Road in Fairfax and now I have to go to Annandale or out near Jermantown Rd. It’s not just TD Bank; quite a few banks have closed branches in the last few years.
