Thai Sushi Eats is closing
The Thai Sushi Eats restaurant, at 7203 Columbia Pike in Annandale, is shutting down. The last day will be Saturday, Sept. 2.
An email to customers says: “After much consideration and evaluation, we have made the difficult decision to close our business. Thank you for all your support throughout the many years. It has been a privilege to serve you, and we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and loyalty over the years.”
Grace Phasuk, the owner of Thai Sushi Eats, said the landlord is not renewing their lease. She believes the property owner might have plans to redevelop.
Phasuk would like to reopen somewhere in Annandale but hasn’t yet found a suitable location.
Four businesses next to Thai Sushi Eats were destroyed in a major fire in March. The fire was caused by an electrical incident that ignited a grease fire.
One of those businesses, To Sok Jip, a restaurant specializing in traditional Korean cuisine, moved to 7123 Columbia Pike between Gaboja and Big Bite.
Hanmi Post moved to 7229 Little River Turnpike in a building formerly occupied by a psychic. The BonChon restaurant was also destroyed in the fire.

I am very disappointed that they have to close. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Annandale. I hope they are able to open elsewhere soon.
This was my favorite Thai restaurant in the area.
My wife and I had one of our first dates here. Sad to see it go, but at least it got me some action.
Consistently good food. I hope they open again nearby.
Clearly one of the BEST restaurants in the entire area. So many customers are going to resume going there once they, hopefully, relocate to another Annandale location. Any landlord would be lucky to have them as a tenant. Make it happen…
One of my favorite restaurants in this area, hope they open again soon.
NoOoOoOo! I finally found a fantastic sushi spot that is close by… I was going to order this past weekend, saw that they were not accepting orders, actually drove there to see if something had happened. Grace Phasuk, I so hope you open a new place in Annandale! The sushi was fantastic (and I often paid with cash to spare the credit card fee) and I hate to see you go.
I will be watching for a new location and hope to see it soon.
