The Democratic Primary is tomorrow
If you’re planning to vote in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, June 21, here’s what you should know:
The only candidates on the ballot are Rep. Don Beyer and challenger Victoria Virasingh in the 8th Congressional District.
Due to redistricting a large section of Annandale has been moved from the 11th Congressional District to the 8th. The new 8th district includes Annandale inside the beltway.
These neighborhoods formerly in the 11th district are now in the 8th: Holmes Run Acres, Holmes Run Heights, Pleasant Ridge, Masonville, Accotink Heights, Broyhill Crest, Kenwood, Columbia Pines, Annandale Terrace, Ravensworth-Bristow, North Springfield, Valley Brook, Holmes Run Park, Barcroft Hills, Bel Air, Sleepy Hollow, Buffalo Hills, Ravenwood, Lake Barcroft, and Belvedere.

There is a list of precincts in the 8th District on the Fairfax County Office of Elections website. If you’re not sure you’re in the 8th District, you can look up your address here.
On June 21, voters should go to their regular polling place. Look up your polling place on the Virginia Department of Elections website.
The polls will be open 6 a.m.-7 p.m. on June 21. Curbside voting will be available for voters 65+ or who have a physical disability.
The Office of Elections sent a notice to all registered voters stating where to vote and which congressional, state Senate, House of Delegates, and county supervisor district they’re in.
There might be some confusion, as the numbering of House of Delegate districts has changed, due to redistricting. The 38th House of Delegates District, for example, has been changed to the 14th district.
The Republicans are not holding a primary. Delegates to the Virginia Republicans’ 8th Congressional District Committee selected a candidate (Karina Lipsman) last month.
