This is the last week for in-person absentee voting

With Election Day just days away – Tuesday, Nov. 8 – this is the last week for in-person absentee voting at satellite centers, including the Mason Government Center on Columbia Pike in Annandale. Click here for a review of what’s on the ballot.]

The satellite polling centers are open weekdays through Friday, Nov. 4, 2-8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Voters can also cast absentee ballots in person at the Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Conference Rooms 2/3, Fairfax) this week, through Nov. 4, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Nov. 5, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot by mail, fax, email, or online, is 5 p.m. on Nov. 1. Absentee ballots must be returned to the Fairfax County Office of Elections by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

When voting absentee, you must indicate a reason why you can’t vote in person on Election Day. The form lists 19 valid reasons, including working outside Fairfax County on Election Day and having an illness or disability.

The polls are open Nov. 8, 6 a.m-7 p.m. Voting on Election Day must be done at your local polling place. If you’re unsure where to go, submit your address on the voter information section of the State Board of Elections website. Be sure to bring a photo ID, such as a Virginia driver’s license, U.S. passport, or student card from a Virginia college or university.

Voters in the Poe Precinct will vote in the cafeteria at Thomas Jefferson School for Science and Technology, 6560 Braddock Road, due to ongoing renovations at the school. Voters can park in the staff lot to the left of the entrance drive and enter the building at door #3.
