Toy donations will help children in need enjoy the holidays
Your generosity can help ensure underserved children and youths aren’t neglected during the holidays. Here are a few ways to help:
- The Mason Police District is hosting a Toy and Pajama Drive for Children in Need.
Residents are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys, pajamas, slippers, and socks for children (infants to teens) in a collection box in the station’s lobby through Dec. 12. The station is located at 6507 Columbia Pike in Annandale.
- The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department is collecting new, unwrapped toys as part of the Annual National Capital Region Fire and EMS Departments’ 2021 Toys for Tots campaign.
Collection boxes are placed outside every fire station every day through Dec. 12 until 8 p.m. Donations are encouraged for toddlers through 17-year-olds. Toy guns, knives, or other weapons won’t be accepted.
- The Fairfax County Police Department’s Victim Services Division is hosting its eighth annual Holiday Gift Card Drive. The agency seeks donations of gift cards to grocery stores, restaurants, clothing stores, discount department stores, and other retailers. The gift cards will allow parents of child victims of crime to take care of basic needs and buy winter clothing and gifts for their children.
Gift cards can be delivered or mailed to Saly Fayez, director, Victim Services Division, Fairfax County Police Department, 12099 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22035.
