Annandale Treasure Trove closes permanently

The Treasure Trove consignment shop in the Annandale Shopping Center on Columbia Pike has closed permanently, Inova announced Nov. 4.

The challenge of responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the temporary closing of the three Treasure Trove stores run by Inova, meant “our charitable dollars, supported by your generous purchases, donations, and consignments, have been significantly impacted,” states an email to customers.

The Treasure Trove carried one-of-a-kind household decor items, as well as clothes, accessories, books, and much more.

As a result, Inova has decided to not reopen the Annandale store. The two other Treasure Trove shops, in McLean and Springfield, remain open with limited hours.

Anyone who had consigned merchandise at the Annandale Treasure Trove on or after Feb. 13, 2020, can make an appointment to pick up their items. To schedule a curbside pickup, call 703-256-7712 on Wednesday, Nov. 11, or Wednesday, Nov. 18. Consignment checks have been issued and mailed.

Appointments for pickup are available 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Nov. 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20.

  1. I too am saddened by this. The volunteers were amazing and one could always find something there to make you smile!

  2. No worries….we still have Goodwill and the new thrift shop opening in the old Kmart shopping center. Now we just need 3-4 more thrift shops and some more hot pot or korean bbq restaurants to make Annandale the new dining and retail mecca of NoVA.

    1. For whatever reason Adam Goldbard LOVES Annandale and sees it as some sort of hot spot in the DC metro area. What exactly leads you to this opinion? What are the rest of us missing (sans the thrift shops, Korean BBQ places and banks)?

  3. The saddest part is they really didn't thank or acknowledge the volunteers at all. My mom worked there for 25+ years and shopped there for even longer but, they didn't even mentioned their service and the thousands of dollars in free labor they received that also majorly contributed to the success and financial gain the hospital received. Many seniors were left heart broken by the way they were treated in the end. So sad indeed.

  4. Since we volunteers were informed of this in a cold email with no thanks or appreciation, all I can take away from my years of volunteer service and loyalty are the many friendships with like minded people. Will miss working with all of you.

  5. Just drove out of my way to Annandale Treasure Trove. Too bad management, which has the email of many shoppers and consigners, could not email announcement of closing and new hours, etc. Occasionally I have gotten notice of a sale. This simple and cheap marketing and communications tool is greatly under utilized!
