There were two shooting incidents on March 20 at the Vistas of Annandale apartment complex, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

“Detectives are investigating whether those cases are related and have increased patrols in that area,” says FCPD spokesperson Sgt. Hudson Bull. Witnesses who may have information on the two “reckless discharge” incidents are asked to contact the West Springfield District Station, 703-644-7377.

The first incident happened in the 7900 block of John Adams Court at 2 p.m. A person was seen shooting a gun and ran into a nearby apartment. Officers were unable to locate anyone injured or involved with the shooting, but did recover a bullet.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., several people were seen exiting a car and shooting a gun several times at Nathan Hale Drive by Ethan Allen Lane. Officers recovered cartridge casings. No injuries were reported.

  1. How about we tear this place down and build Hudson Quarters instead. This would have saved the trees and got rid of the crap in this referenced ghetto.

  2. It did not use to be the ghetto….parts of Annandale has gone down hill. Maybe they need to get rid of the apartments. It is not cheap to leave at the Vista, but if you have multiple families living in the units I guess it becomes affordable. Management at these apartments need to step it up!!?

  3. The cops should use the same crime fighting tactics that they used to combat the drag racing near John Marr Dr……just install some "reckless discharges will not be tolerated" signs in the ghettos. Problem solved!

  4. I've been watching this from my home. The Loud Cars, Guns, Drugs are all related. Recent changes in VA Law have made it impossible for Police to enforce Vehicle Noise Codes. Loud-Fancy Cars bring Status to young men. Guns & Drugs finance the Cars.

Contact your State Representatives. Don't let them tell you the County is responsible. They've made it impossible for the County to respond.
Tell them to fix this BEFORE the elections or you'll vote against them. Don't let them tell you this has to wait until AFTER they're re-elected. It will never get done. These are the people who have botched this.
