Tysons mall to offer slimy fun for kids

An “experiential slime children’s museum” is coming to the Tysons Corner Center, the Washington Business Journal reports.

The Sloomoo Institute is planning a “timed ticketed slime experience” and a retail store, according to the article (subscription required).

The slime museum offers children ages 4 and up a chance to make and play with slime in different textures, colors, and fragrances. Kids can get slimed at Sloomoo Falls, walk on 300 gallons of slime, shoot a slingshot full of slime, and learn about the science of slime at the Sloobratory.

It will be located next to Nordstrom in the former Paul Mitchell beauty school and at least one other retail space. The cost of renovations is estimated at $3.8 million. According to the WBJ, the opening is “many months away.”

The Sloomoo Institute has locations in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.

Another interactive retailer is also coming to the Tysons Mall. The pop-up Hershey Super Sweet Adventure will offer hands-on Hershey-candy-related activities.

Level 99, an experiential venue for adults, opened at the Tysons Corner Center in August in the former Barnes & Noble and Old Navy stores. Level 99 offers over 50 physical and mental challenges, such as a ninja swing, lava jump, and reactor sludge.
