Use QR codes to access new fitness trail

The Fairfax County Park Authority has opened two QR code fitness trails at Mason District Park in Annandale and Ellanor C. Lawrence Park in Chantilly.

The Trail Mix program allows visitors to use a phone to scan the QR code on a sign and select a low-impact, medium, or advanced exercise option

There are eight markers in Mason District Park offering exercises for all ages and abilities. Trail Mix can be done in any order.

“Trail Mix plays on the idea of fitness as a recipe for healthy living,” says Wellness Coordinator Elizabeth Ittner. “The theme of each station is a measurement of ingredients, just like you would see in a recipe – dash, pinch, and dip.”

When all the fitness “ingredients” are completed together, participants will receive a complete body workout. Watch this video to learn more.

Trail Mix will remain open through April 10.
