Vote for your favorite restaurant
The nominations are in, and the public’s choices for best restaurants in Annandale have been narrowed down to three or four choices for each category.
Annandale Blog readers were asked to fill out an open ended survey as the first part of a process to select the “Annie Awards,” honoring the best places to eat in the Annandale area. That survey was also promoted on Nextdoor and Facebook.
A new survey, based on the results of the nominating process, asks the public to vote among specific choices within six categories.
The winners will be announced Oct. 14 at the Taste of Annandale, a day-long community festival on Tom Davis Drive in the heart of Annandale.
For the overall best restaurant category, the restaurants getting the most nominees are:
- The Block, a food court concept consisting of several separate eateries at 4331 John Marr Drive;
- Duck Chang’s, a Chinese restaurant specializing in Peking duck at 4427 John Marr Drive founded in 1975;
- Foxfire Grill at 6550 Little River Turnpike in Pinecrest Plaza; and
- Silverado, part of the Great American Restaurants chain, at 7052 Columbia Pike in the Annandale Shopping Center.

Some of the best restaurants in Annandale are Indian and Middle Eastern. I'm still holding out for Al Hamra, IndAroma, Tandoori Nights and Shiney's!
Yummy Kabob is pretty good, too–but the name…..
