Walk-in COVID vaccinations available at Tysons center

After months of extensive backups to get the COVID-19 vaccine, Fairfax County now has enough vaccine for everyone age 16 and up who wants it.  

As a result, the Health Department is now allowing first-come, first-served walk-in vaccinations at the new Tysons Community Vaccination Center (CVC).

The CVC is in the former Lord & Taylor store at Tyson Corner Center. It’s open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. 

Scheduling a COVID vaccination is available through the Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS), a tool developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Appointments can be scheduled for the CVC, George Mason University, the Fairfax County Government Center, and other Health Department clinics. 

There are three steps: 

• Create a VAMS account.  
• Look for an email or text message and follow the instructions to complete your account set-up.
• Choose your appointment date, time, and location and schedule your appointment.

The Health Department urges residents to save their account information in case they want to cancel or reschedule their appointment online later. Complete the pre-vaccination questionnaire in advance to save time during the appointment.
