Weekly crime report: stabbing, concealed weapon, robbery

The Fairfax County Police Department reports the following recent crimes: 

  • There was an assault incident in the 5900 block of Seminary Road at 5 p.m. on Aug. 4. A man assaulted and stabbed the victim as he attempted to walk past him on the sidewalk. 

Lawrence Williams, 63, no fixed address, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. The victim was treated for injuries not considered life threatening. Just before that incident, police learned Williams had assaulted a woman. He was charged with assault and battery and trespassing. 

  • When Annandale resident Edwin Brizuela, 25, was stopped by the police Aug. 3 at 1 a.m. on Woodburn Road at Woodburn Village Drive for having a suspended license, officers found a loaded firearm under his seat. 

He was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, having a concealed weapon, and driving with a revoked license. 

  • A man was robbed shortly before 1 a.m. on Aug. 5 in a parking lot in the 4200 block of Annandale Road. Two men approached the victim, assaulted him, took property, and ran away. The victim was treated at a hospital for injuries considered not life threatening. 
  • There was a reckless discharge incident in the 6100 block of Little River Turnpike in Lincolnia shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 5. A resident heard multiple gunshots in the area. Officers found several cartridge cases on the ground and damage to a nearby business. There were no injuries.
  • Police provided an update of a robbery that happened June 28 in the 6000 block of Bellview Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads. Three men approached the victim, displayed guns, demanded property, and assaulted the victim. One suspect discharged a firearm, but did not strike the victim. 

On June 30, detectives charged one juvenile with two counts of robbery, malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. 

On July 29, two additional juveniles were both charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of malicious wounding, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
