Where to watch the World Cup

The family-friendly and dog-friendly Shipgarten outdoor beer garden in Tysons is hosting World Cup viewing parties. [Shipgarten]

There are plenty of places to watch a FIFA World Cup game on a big screen starting this week in venues not too far from the Annandale/Mason District area. Here are a few options:

  • COPA Tysons Fan Zone at the Starr Hill Biergarten, 1805 Capital One Drive, Tysons – June 12; U.S. vs. Paraguay, 9 p.m.; June 19, U.S. vs. Australia; June 25, U.S. vs. Turkey, 10 p.m.

There will be large indoor and outdoor viewing areas with high-quality broadcasts, live DJs, entertainment, food and drink specials, and giveaways. Hosted by the Tysons Community Alliance in partnership with other stakeholders.

  • Shipgarten, 7581 Colshire Drive, Tysons – Watch the games on 150+ screens with stadium sound, beginning with the opening match, Mexico vs. South Africa, June 11 at 3 p.m.
  • Dave & Buster’s, Springfield Mall – World Cup Fan Fest, June 19, U.S. vs. Australia at 3 p.m., giveaways and prizes, sticker trading, 75 chips and unlimited video gameplay. $20.
  • Crescendo Studios, 801 Route 29 (Lee Highway), Falls Church – World Cup watch parties June 22 and 23 with full bar, music, and karaoke. Doors open 12-7 p.m. Free admission.
  • Mosaic, Strawberry Park, 2911 District Ave., Merrifield – Watch select games with food specials, beginning June 13 with Qatar vs. Switzerland at 3 p.m. and Brazil vs. Morocco at 6 p.m.
  • Taqueria Picoso, 1472 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria – World Cup watch party beginning June 11, 1-7 p.m., with Mexico vs. South Africa.
  • Greenhouse Kitchen + Bar, 2070 Chain Bridge Road, Tysons – World Cup viewing parties beginning with U.S. vs. Paraguay, June 12, 9 p.m. Free admission.
  • Arlington Mill Community Center – 909 Dinwiddie St., Arlington. Watch games on a giant outdoor screen June 17, 7 p.m. (Ghana va. Panama), June 24, 6 p.m. (Brazil vs. Scotland), and July 1, 8 p.m. (teams TBD).
