Woman sexually assaulted in Bailey’s Crossroads

A woman was sexually assaulted during an early-morning burglary Oct. 14 in the 6000 block of Knollwood Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, officers responded at 5:10 a.m. for a report of a man inside an apartment.
Two men had entered the unsecured, occupied apartment. One of them went into a bedroom where the victim was sleeping. The victim woke to the man sexually assaulting her. The man punched the victim, then the two men ran away.
Officers, with assistance from the K9 unit and police helicopter, conducted an extensive search of the area but did not find the suspects.
At this time, both suspects are described as 18-year-old Hispanic men. One has long curly hair. Both were wearing dark jackets and dark pants.
Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood to gather a more comprehensive description of the suspects and are searching for potential surveillance footage.
