Ara to reopen under new ownership

A new Korean restaurant is slated to open within the next few weeks at 7137 Little River Turnpike, in the spot formerly occupied by Ara Fusion Restaurant.
The new place will be called Ara Kitchen and Lounge, says the
owner, Mina Cho.

The menu will have traditional Korean dishes, such as bibimbap,
bulgogi, and galbi – plus some less-common items. The bar will offer craft
cocktails with a Korean twist.

The new Ara will have seven private karaoke rooms, a bar,
and three private seating areas. It will be open daily 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Cho, the owner of the EZ-Way Mart grocery store in
Woodbridge, says her short-term goal is to renovate the old Ara space. Her
long-term goal is to make the new restaurant a landmark for Annandale.

  1. I love that about Annandale. I enjoy all the Korean restaurants. I head to Old Town for wine bars, Arlington for steak houses, 7 corners for Thai. I have no idea why everyone is complaining.

  2. I agree, Korean restaurants are nicer than normal businesses, and have a lot more personality/flavor than chain restaurants that are abundant everywhere else. There are lot of Korean restaurants, but they are different from each other. That's what makes Annandale great, are the Korean establishments. There's plenty of other towns that are cookie cutter and have typical American franchises if international mom and pop stores are not your thing.

  3. …Ara was already there, as a Korean restaurant. Just think of it as a Korean restaurant that closed temporarily, and is now reopening.
