Big projects planned for Springfield mall
Plans are in the works for a seven-story hotel and a 460-unit residential building in the Springfield Town Center parking lot, the Washington Business Journal reports.
Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, the owner of the mall has long planned to sell off portions of the parking lot for mixed-use development.

InterMountain Management, a development company focusing on extended-stay hotels, reportedly plans to build a Home2 Suites by Hilton. The 92,000 square-foot hotel would have 136 rooms and limited retail to serve the hotel guests, WBJ states.
Hanover RS Limited Partnership filed a rezoning application with Fairfax County to develop a 475,000-square-foot mid-rise residential building at the corner of Spring Mill Drive and Loisdale Road.
The project would also include a “Southwest Fitness Park” in the parking lot facing Spring Mill Drive, WBJ reports. It would have a fenced dog park, lawn games, perimeter crushed gravel fitness trail, fitness stations, tree groves, benches, and lighting.
Just keep building that low rent housing to make this area a bigger dump than it already is.
This article does not mention low rent housing. Sorry not everyone can afford a 700k house and work for peanuts. Sell your house and move to the Loudoun don’t complain when all you have is bland corporate prepared fast food.
There’s no attraction in the area to attract people. This is not going to do it. Oh boy. wrong area to waste your money on.
