Braddock District residents who voted in a Democratic caucus selected Tom Dannan as their nominee in a special election for the Braddock seat on the Fairfax County School Board.

According to unofficial results announced Jan. 10, Dannan received 75 percent of the 2,928 votes cast in the firehouse primary, beating opponent Alexa Krezel.

Dannan is expected to face Republican candidate Saundra Davis in a special election on March 3.

The special election was called to fill the school board seat vacated by Rachna Sizemore Heizer, who was elected to represent the Braddock District on the Board of Supervisors.
