Enjoy ‘The Princess Bride’ under the stars

The Fairfax County Community Revitalization Section invites families to cheer for Westley and Buttercup at a free showing of the beloved classic, “The Princess Bride,” at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space on Saturday evening.

Movie Night starts at 8 at 7200 Columbia Pike in Annandale. Come early grab a good spot on the lawn. Bring a blanket, chairs, a picnic, and friends, “as you wish,” to make the most of the event. There will be free popcorn and an ice cream truck.

“The Princess Bride” offers an “inconceivable” tale of fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, and miracles.

  1. Another waste of county taxes …. Where does a family w kids park their minivan ? In Giant lot w burned out bldg, rodent population, mentally ill homeless? Then cross busy Columbia Pike in the dark? On paper, this seems so nice – but there are no fewer than 3 other venues for community events with safer parking. I guess could take public transportation ? Or ride bikes on the literally deadly roads. are we raising property tax to pay for this flawed decision making?
