Fire stations are collecting Toys for Tots

How about picking up a toy or two for needy children while doing your holiday shopping?

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department is again participating in the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots campaign to “bring holiday joy and deliver a message of hope to children.”

All Fairfax County fire stations – including those in Annandale and Bailey’s Crossroads – will put out a collection box every day until 8 p.m. through Dec. 11.

The campaign serves toddlers and youths through age 17. Toys must be new and unwrapped. Toy weapons will not be accepted.

Thanks to the generosity of the public, the Fairfax County fire department collected approximately 25,000 toys last year.

  1. This is a good program run by our Marines, and I’m glad that our firefighters are a part of it. As a Marine, it was a volunteer effort to work on Toys for Tots. Just as it is for our FCFD.
