Food trucks offer a preview of the future Flavor Hive restaurant

Flavor Hive, the restaurant coming to a former Wells Fargo building in Annandale, is under construction, but it’s already “open.”

Flavor Hive food trucks parked on the site are attracting long lines of customers drawn by the company’s huge social media presence and its signature dish – the “walking taco chips bag.”

Some customers brought their own bags of chips – Doritos, Sun Chips, Lay’s potato chips, for example – while employees cut the bags open and filled them with falafel, chicken, ground beef, lamb gyro, cheese, onion, tomato, spicy truffle sauce, or other ingredients.

Flavor Hive also offers rice bowls, loaded fries, pita pouches, sandwiches, quesadillas, dal puri tacos, and samosas.

The restaurant, at 4260 John Marr Drive, is expected to open in June. It’s the first of several brick-and-mortar stores planned by the Flavor Hive owners.

Meanwhile, the food trucks will be in the parking lot 6 p.m.-12 a.m. Monday to Friday, 11 a.m.-12 a.m. on Saturday, and 12-10 p.m. on Sunday.

  1. Ordered fries along with my rice bowl and the cooks claimed I didn’t order fries despite a virtual receipt and the guy that took my order confirming I did. Food was fine but definitely a sour first experience with them.

  2. I had a feeling this was the place that was opening up. I found out about them through the “Too Good Go” app and it was busy picking up leftovers at MIDNIGHT!!!

It’s so yummy! This is awesome news for us.
