Free seedlings available

The Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District is giving away free vegetable seedlings at several locations on Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9.

Locations include:

• James Lee Community Center, 2855 Annandale Road, Falls Church, 12-2 p.m.
• Minnie Peyton Community Center, 5920 Summers Lane, Bailey’s Crossroads, 12-4 p.m.
• Annandale UMC Mission Center,7901 Heritage Drive, Annandale, 2-5 p.m.

The seedlings include tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, basil, and bunching onions.

“Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, this is a great opportunity to grow your own fresh food at home,” the NVSWCD states.
