😕 By 12:20 PM, they were completely out of veggie seedlings at James Lee Community Center for a giveaway that was scheduled for Noon-to-2:00 PM. What a waste of time and travel.
Classic government!
If by “classic government” you mean trying to provide something that is clearly needed and wanted with limited resources and funding… OK
They were out. It was popular. Unfortunate you were inconvenienced not getting there before ALL the other people that also wanted free stuff.
They were out of everything in 20 minutes after people went out of their way to get there. THAT lack of common sense and stupidity is classic government.
“Come to my house, everyone, and get free money” reads the public announcement. I have a single penny to hand out. Did that add to the greater good? No… opposite effect? Classic government.
Do you know how much they had to start? How many people were lined up before it even began? FREE plant seedlings spread out at MULTIPLE locations to try and make the offer fairly available through a good portion of the county?
I have a strong suspicion that whatever your personal grasp of logistics is, whatever your complaints, you would not have pulled off the event even close to as successfully. Keep complaining, maybe they’ll get the message to quit making this offer that you didn’t manage to arrive early enough to partake in. The agency arranged for a huge number of vegetables for people to plant to increase food security. It was very popular. LOTS of people showed and theoretically all the plants will be planted! Success! You didn’t get yours, so that somehow makes you unable to see the big picture that doesn’t have anything to do with just YOU. Classic complainer.
Thank you for speaking sense from facts and insight.
