Greidinger drops bid to challenge Supervisor Cook
Marc Greidinger has dropped out of the race to unseat John Cook as the Braddock District representative on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
“I entered this race because I thought it was important for someone to step up to challenge Supervisor Cook and his record,” Greidinger wrote to supporters. “But while it is important to know when to step up, it is equally important to know when to step down.”
“After speaking with a number of people whom I respect, I have concluded that the other Democrat in this race [Chris Wade] is a smart and capable individual who will be well positioned to win in November,” Greidinger says. “For the good of the party and the people of Braddock, it is important for us Democrats to be unified and give whoever the eventual nominee is the best shot at winning in November.”
